Fox News host Harris Faulkner is praising President Joe Biden for his speech honoring Capitol police officer William “Billy” Evans.

Following the president’s remarks, Faulkner said, “We have just watched the president of the United States give his words, kindness, and empathy like he does so well. He’s iconic at it. He is so present and so kind.”

She continued, “In these times those words may not mean yet a lot to those children, Logan and Abigail, the president used some big words, but he was speaking to the family of officer Billy Evans and to those children to think ahead. In the future, those words will come into focus for them.”

Faulkner also acknowledged, “Consoler-in-chief is a role that every president unfortunately plays in America. And we watched this moment of grief and we feel for the family and we understand the sacrifice because we have watched it play out. We know the meaning of law enforcement in our lives. Particularly at the U.S. Capitol.”

During the ceremony, Biden told Evans’ family, “Your son, your husband, your brother, your dad was a hero and he’s part of you. It’s in your blood.”

He added, “My prayer for you is that moment of a smile comes before the tear, quicker, then longer.”

Evans died earlier this month after he was struck by a vehicle while standing outside of the U.S. Capitol.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) also delivered remarks during the ceremony.

“His mother Janice, who I was able to speak with last week, to Shannon, my heart breaks for you. It does. To Billy’s beloved children, Logan, Abigail, I want you to know that we are forever indebted to your dad. We will remember his sacrifice and your sacrifice forever,” Schumer said.

He added, “And to Billy’s friends on the Capitol Police force, these past few months have been devastating. Just as the scars of Jan. 6 have begun to heal, another wound had opened.”
