A video released by the Los Angeles Police Department showed looters ransacking a 7-Eleven.

On Thursday, the department released a video showing dozens of people storming the store and grabbing items off of the shelves.

In another instance, a person jumped over the counter and proceeded to throw items at the crowd.

Later in the video, more people ran behind the counter.

In a statement, the department explained that on Monday “around 12:40 a.m., a street takeover initiated at the intersection of Figueroa Street and El Segundo Boulevard. Motorists flooded the intersection and blocked traffic with their vehicles from all directions to create a ‘pit’ in the middle of the intersection.”

The statement continues, “During the incident, spectators exited their vehicles and watched as motorists recklessly drove in a maneuver known as ‘doing donuts.’ The maneuver involves purposely losing tire traction while driving in a circular motion and continuing to accelerate. This results in a series of skid marks left on the pavement.”

According to the department, the spectators proceeded to form a “flash mob” of looters and rushed the store.

“Looters also vandalized the store and threw merchandise at employees. The looters then exited the store to the surrounding parking lots and streets, and quickly dispersed before police arrived,” the department explained.

The video sparked reactions from several on Twitter.

One user tweeted, “What it comes to flash mobs I prefer the singing and dancing kind.”

Conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey wrote, “I was told that the lack to (sic) convenient and grocery stores in low income areas was because of racism. I’m starting to think, just maybe, it’s something else.”

Remember that systemic racism is the biggest problem the people in this video face. Not the fact that they are actively working to destroy their own community. https://t.co/cx9qhZsTuj
