Dr. Anthony Fauci is getting roasted over one detail about his home office.

Days before the infectious disease expert is set to retire from government work, The New York Times published an article about his plans for the future.

But the introduction to the article set off some on Twitter.

“The walls in Dr. Anthony S. Fauci’s home office are adorned with portraits of him, drawn and painted by some of his many fans,” the article states. “The most striking one is by the singer Joan Baez. The two of them, he said, ‘have become pretty good friends over the years.’”

Twitter owner Elon Musk called the detail “creepy.”

“Maybe he just loves looking at science?” he quipped.

Bryan Griffin, a press secretary for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), tweeted, “Though the public would benefit from rigorous debate and disagreement over this man’s edicts, the best the MSM can do is a fawning feature piece written to idolize Fauci.”

The Times noted, “Dr. Fauci seemed a little uncomfortable with people knowing about the pictures. He said that previously, when they were captured on camera, the ‘far right’ attacked him as an ‘egomaniac.’ If someone goes to the trouble of sending him a portrait of himself, he said, he would ‘feel like I’m disrespecting them’ if he discarded it.”
