Twitter CEO Elon Musk responded to a tweet from one of the company’s employees with a clip from a movie.
Haraldur Thorleifsson took to Twitter to share concerns he has about his job with Musk.
“9 days ago the access to my work computer was cut, along with about 200 other Twitter employees. However your head of HR is not able to confirm if I am an employee or not. You’ve not answered my emails. Maybe if enough people retweet you’ll answer me here?” Thorleifsson tweeted.
Musk replied, “What work have you been doing?”

Thorleifsson explained, “I would need to break confidentiality to answer this question here. If you have your lawyers share in writing that I can do that then I’d be happy to discuss that openly!”

Musk responded, “It’s approved, you go ahead.”
Thorleifsson claimed he “led the effort to save about $500k on one SaaS contract. Supported closing down many others – led prioritization of design projects across the company to make sure we were able to deliver with a small team.”
The tweet continues, “Led design crits to help level up design across the company, was hiring manager for all design roles, worked on efforts to steer the company away from focusing on power users and on to, younger users (because our user base is aging).”

Eventually, Musk used a clip from the movie “Office Space” to mock the employee.

Rotten Tomatoes explains the film “Office Space” is about “corporate drone Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston)” who “hates his soul-killing job at software company Initech. While undergoing hypnotherapy, Peter is left in a blissful state when his therapist dies in the middle of their session.”
The website continues, “He refuses to work overtime, plays games at his desk and unintentionally charms two consultants into putting him on the management fast-track. When Peter’s friends learn they’re about to be downsized, they hatch a revenge plot against the company inspired by ‘Superman III.'”
Last month, The New York Times reported the company laid off at least 200 of its employees.
