Twitter CEO Elon Musk pushed back against a call from former President Donald Trump to terminate parts of the U.S. Constitution.
Musk replied to a tweet posted by Fox News with the headline, “White House responds to Trump demanding to terminate parts of the Constitution after ‘Twitter files’ release.”
He responded, “The Constitution is greater than any President. End of story.”

The former president made the remark in a post on his Truth Social Platform.
“So, with the revelation of MASSIVE and WIDESPREAD FRAUD and DECEPTION in working closely with Big Tech Companies, the DNC, and the Democrat Party, do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION?” Trump wrote.
He added, “A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great ‘Founder’ did not want, and would not condone, False and Fraudulent Elections!”

Another tweet suggested it is “unclear if Trump’s suggestion to terminate the Constitution was deflection from his dinner with Nazi praisers, his potential tax fraud, his theft of top secret docs or his attempted self-coup.”

According to another user, Trump “lives in abject terror of dying in jail. He flails wildly, in terrible panic. The question becomes, why do GOP in office, supposed ‘conservatives’ do nothing, say nothing? Even endorse him.”

Additionally, the Biden administration issued a statement on the issue.
“The American Constitution is a sacrosanct document that for over 200 years has guaranteed that freedom and the rule of law prevail in our great country. The Constitution brings the American people together – regardless of party – and elected leaders swear to uphold it,” White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said.
He added, “It’s the ultimate monument to all of the Americans who have given their lives to defeat self-serving despots that abused their power and trampled on fundamental rights. Attacking the Constitution and all it stands for is anathema to the soul of our nation, and should be universally condemned. You cannot only love America when you win.”
The New York Times noted Trump’s argument came as a reaction to a report about Twitter employees’ internal discussion over the company’s previous move to block links to a report published by The New York Post about emails found on Hunter Biden’s laptop.
