Dolly Parton’s new album is rock and roll, not country, but one thing that won’t ever change is her faith.

In an interview with Fox News Digital Parton says, “My faith impacts everything that I do because I do believe that, through God, all things are possible and so I always ask God to bless everything that I do and the people that I work with and to bring all the right things and right people into my life and to take the wrong ones out.”

The iconic country music star, 77, is known for both the staying power of her career and longevity of her marriage. Parton has been married to Carl Dean since 1966.

Parton often credits humor, Dean’s desire to remain out of the spotlight, and his lack of celebrity status for their success.

When asked if his lack of celebrity helps she replied, “Well, I think it does. And, one, the fact that he’s not in show business at all. So we’re not in competition on that. We don’t have to deal with it.”

The popular singer has never made a secret of her faith. During her 2022 televised Christmas special, she even performed, “Go to Hell,” a song that declares the reality of the devil. Mid-song, Parton delivers a firm rebuke to the devil, leaving no question as to her firm commitment to faith.

Her upcoming genre-hopping album contains selections inspired by Dean. Parton told “Today Show” host Hoda Kotb she believes it’s some of her best work.

Due to be released in Fall 2023, Parton invited many of her rock-and-roll friends on board to perform classic hits she believes her fans will enjoy. Parton told Kotb, “I’m gonna try my best to try to bring as much joy as I can, and lift people up as much as I can in my way.”

Not one to do only one thing at a time, Parton is also launching a new book for children with an anti-bullying message.
