Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is blasting President Joe Biden for his public comments about the wildfires in Maui, Hawaii. During an event on Friday, DeSantis said, "You have these horrible fires in Hawaii... It's a great area. Just utter devastation." "And Biden, what is he doing? He ends up on the beach. And then he's asked about it and he says, 'No comment.' Now look, if a Republican had tried to do that, what do you think the media would do? They would go crazy," he continued. Finally, DeSantis quipped, "In fact, they would blame the Republican for the fires happening in the first place. We all know that that's the truth." Biden has been criticized for his response to the disaster. On Sunday, Biden was asked if he had a comment on the death toll, and he responded, “No, no comment.” In case you missed it: https://twitter.com/Breaking911/status/1691110455677173760 On Tuesday, Biden said, “My wife Jill and I are going to travel to Hawaii as soon as we can. That’s what I’ve been talking to the governor about it. I don’t want to get in the way.” “I’ve been to too many disaster areas. But I want to go, make sure we got everything they need. I want to be sure we don’t disrupt the ongoing recovery efforts,” he added. And on Wednesday, the White House shared Biden will visit Maui on Monday.
