Conservative radio host Dana Loesch appeared on Fox News Thursday to discuss the potential backlash from the town hall meetings orchestrated by left-wing activists.

Democratic leaders have launched tours across the U.S. targeting Republican-led districts to challenge political opposition. During an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Loesch said that these events are not only failing to engage the Democratic base but are actively alienating voters.

“They’re fighting over the soul of the party. It’s gonna be an ultimate cage match. I don’t know who’s gonna win, who’s gonna win this. The town halls are interesting,” Loesch told host Jesse Watters. “The left has been going after Democrats who have not been mean enough. You played this audio soundbite where participants in this town hall were angry that Democrats weren’t angry enough because Chuck Schumer went and passed the CR. That literally was Democrats’ CR.”

Senate Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer supported the GOP’s stopgap spending bill to prevent a government shutdown. Loesch said Schumer was criticized for passing a Continuing Resolution (CR) that was, in fact, a Democratic initiative.

“I don’t even know what they’re upset about. It literally was theirs. It extended until September, but beside that, they’re angry because they’re not mad enough. They’ve turned voters off. So if they’re still being led by their angriest, most vociferous part of their base, this is still going to be a disaster for them,” Loesch said. “Now, on the point of Republicans in town halls, Democrats have been trying to divide this so they’ve been going after what they think is the establishment. Now they’re trying to target Republicans.”

Loesch pointed to attempts by these activist groups to stage town halls targeting Republicans, recounting an episode from her own town.

“There’s this national group, this far-left activist group, that’s been trying to have these fake town halls in states all across the country. And they tried to do it last night in my town. They pay activists if they have signage, if they do chants. They actually had a giant inflatable Trump that they were hitting and  mocking and all of this stuff. It’s like the two minutes of hate,” Loesch said. “Nobody wants to go to that. Nobody wants to go to that struggle session.”

Loesch said these gatherings are so exclusive that locals cannot simply attend.

“They did not make the address public to people in our town. In order to get the address of this so-called inclusive town hall, you had to give all of your information, your email, your number, all of this stuff. And then they had to verify it before they were going to give you the location, which sounds pretty dangerous to me,” Loesch added. “When you consider the number of people on the right who’ve been swatted lately, I wonder how the left is getting their information.”

A coalition of national Democratic committees, including the DNC, DCCC, and ASDC, launched the “People’s Town Halls” tour in Republican-held districts across the U.S., which started last Friday in Iowa. This initiative follows the Democratic Party’s significant losses in the 2024 elections, where Republicans secured the White House and both congressional chambers.

Several Democrats have formed a resistance to counter President Donald Trump’s agenda, particularly focusing on the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) led by Elon Musk, which has significantly reduced workforces across various federal agencies. The newly established DOGE aims to slash unnecessary government spending, a move that has prompted widespread Democratic opposition but has received considerable approval from the American public.

In the House, Democrats like New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have criticized the Trump-backed government spending bill, calling it a “slush fund” for Trump and Musk in a social media post. Meanwhile, Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman dismissed his party’s opposition to the bill as mere “total theater,” reflecting internal divisions over the strategy against the spending cuts.
