Actress Courtney Cox shared a special post honoring her former co-star in “Friends,” the late Matthew Perry.

She posted a clip of the infamous scene where her character Monica is found sleeping with Chandler, Perry’s role, to Instagram.

“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day,” she wrote.

Cox went on, “When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now, here’s one of my favorites.”

“To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story,” she added.

Then she noted, “In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say.”

The audience went wild over it and made the scene a hit.

Cox praised Perry for his comedic style stating, “He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind.”

The scripted romance lasted throughout the remaining seasons and is considered a fan favorite.

In 2017, Entertainment Weekly reported the episode mentioned. Co-creator Marta Kauffman said, “Our intention was not for them to be as serious as they became.”

She went on, “One of the fun things about doing a show that has years of legs on it is that it begins to tell you what it should be.”

“When we were shooting the scene in London where we find out that Monica and Chandler have slept together, we were in front of a live audience and the reaction was so stunning…. We didn’t expect applause to last for two minutes,” she added.

Kauffman also noted, “We kind of went, ‘Huh, this is such an unexpected duo, let’s play with it for a little while.’”
