Cindy McCain is weighing in on what her husband, late-Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), would have said to President-elect Joe Biden if he were still alive.

“I think he would tell Joe that he has great confidence in him, he knows he’s going to be a good president in terms of bringing the country together, healing, and listening to people,” Cindy McCain said during her appearance on “Good Morning America” Wednesday.

She added, “I think John would be excited to be able to work with someone that he knows understands the issues, but also has the ability to bring people together and cross the divide and encourage people to work together in a civil manner.”

Cindy McCain announced her endorsement of Biden in September, as IJR previously reported.

“My husband John lived by a code: country first,” Cindy McCain tweeted. “We are Republicans, yes, but Americans foremost. There’s only one candidate in this race who stands up for our values as a nation, and that is [Joe Biden].”

Biden later added her to his transition team with an advisory board position, as IJR previously reported.

In a November appearance on “The View,” Cindy McCain called on President Donald Trump to “concede in a gracious, polite manner.”

At the “Save America March” on Jan. 6, Trump told his supporters, “You don’t concede when there’s theft involved.”

Protesters proceeded to storm the U.S. Capitol as lawmakers met to certify the Electoral College results.

On Jan. 13, the House impeached Trump for a second time on the charge of
“incitement of insurrection.”

Over 25,000 National Guard troops will be in Washington, D.C., to ensure a safe inauguration, and the National Mall will be closed to the general public.

Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president of the United States at 12 p.m. EST on Wednesday.
