The Rushingbrook Children’s Choir made headlines when Capitol police shut down their performance of the National Anthem, but now they will be singing at former President Donald Trump’s July 1 Independence Day Celebration in Pickens, South Carolina.

Special guest details for the event were released by the Trump Campaign Wednesday and they included a performance by the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir.

This comes after Trump personally addressed the choir in a video shared with the Post and Courier stating, “I heard about what happened at the Capitol and that’s a shame.”

“Really it’s a serious thing to have an event like that, such a beautiful time in your lives, at such an important time in your lives, to be interrupted in such a way. But we’re going to have you in South Carolina,” he added.

Now, the children will sing to honor the nation’s birthday during Trump’s event who had also previously told them in his video address, “Thank you for loving America.”

According to the New York Post, the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir had obtained permission to perform at the Capitol but police shut them down due to a “miscommunication.”

This sparked outrage across the nation and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy called it “unacceptable.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., posted a clip of the incident to Twitter saying the performance was cut short because the choir was told, “certain Capitol police said it might offend someone/cause issues.”

After the incident, the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir was featured on Fox Carolina, and has been invited to return to the Capitol to sing per local 7 News.

A Go Fund Me was even set up to help the choir raise enough money to once again embark on the trip to finish their performance at the Capitol.
