Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) should not have a security clearance after a post she made about a suspected leaker, according to one of her former colleagues.

On Thursday, Greene reacted to the arrest of Jack Teixeira, a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard accused of leaking top-secret Pentagon documents.

The congresswoman tweeted, “Jake Teixeira is white, male, christian, and antiwar. That makes him an enemy to the Biden regime. And he told the truth about troops being on the ground in Ukraine and a lot more.”

“Ask yourself who is the real enemy? A young low level national guardsmen? Or the administration that is waging war in Ukraine, a non-NATO nation, against nuclear Russia without war powers?” she added.

In a longer thread, Greene wrote, “The Biden Admin and Pentagon have been caught lying about the war they are funding and fighting against Russia in Ukraine, but they are in full spin mode blaming low level 21 yr old National Guardsman, Jake Teixeira, while they are ginning up full government censorship.”

“The Biden admin is preparing to pass into law something like the Restrict Act, which will severely take away your online privacy rights and control over your own data. Remember the FBI and Homeland already target Americans,” she continued. “Now that they are caught literally unconstitutionally in a war in Ukraine, their response is to create MORE laws, censorship, and strip Americans of their rights.”

The congresswoman admitted, “Yes, leaking classified documents is serious.”

However, she added, “Many are calling Jake Teixeira a hero for pulling back the flimsy transparent curtain and revealing what we suspected all along. Criticism about who can be trusted with national intelligence need to ask themselves that question again.”

Her comments did not sit well with former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.).

“Marjorie Taylor Greene makes clear yet again that she cannot be trusted with America’s national security information and should not have a security clearance of any kind,” Cheney tweeted.

The Washington Post reported Teixeira was arrested following an “investigation into leaks of classified military intelligence that started with a small online group and eventually led to hundreds of government secrets spilling out to the wider world.”

“Teixeira served in a junior position, but he had access to an internal Defense Department computer network for top-secret information, called the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System, according to a U.S. official familiar with the matter. That access would have allowed him the ability to read and potentially to print documents classified at the same level as many of the leaked files,” The Post explained.

It added, “Teixeira told members of the Discord group Thug Shaker Central that he worked as a technology support staffer for the Massachusetts Air National Guard and at a base on Cape Cod, and this was how he was able to access classified documents.”
