Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) is calling for the rise of “the new right” after he lost his primary battle.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Cawthorn wrote, “When the establishment turn their guns on me, when the Uni-party coalesced to defeat an America First member very few people had my back.”

“This list includes the lion share of figures that came to my defense when it was not politically profitable. These are honorable men and women who are the type of friends anyone yearns to have,” he continued. “There are other national figures who I believe are patriots, but I am on a mission now to expose those who say and promise one thing yet legislate and work towards another, self-profiteering, globalist goal.”

He added, “The time for gentile politics as usual has come to an end. It’s time for the rise of the new right, it’s time for Dark MAGA to truly take command. We have an enemy to defeat, but we will never be able to defeat them until we defeat the cowardly and weak members of our own party. Their days are numbered. We are coming.”

He also shared a portion of his Instagram statement with a list of individuals he deemed to be “American First Patriots.”

The list included Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles, and former President Donald Trump.

Cawthorn faced a tight primary battle after a series of unflattering stories about him emerged.

Trump addressed the controversy around the freshman Congressman and urged voters to give him a “second chance.”

“When Madison was first elected to Congress, he did a great job,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He added, “Recently, he made some foolish mistakes, which I don’t believe he’ll make again…let’s give Madison a second chance!”

On Tuesday, Cawthorn lost his primary bid to state Rep. Chuck Edwards.

In a tweet, Cawthorn wrote, “Congratulations to [Edwards] on securing the nomination tonight. It’s time for the NC-11 GOP to rally behind the Republican ticket to defeat the Democrats’ nominee this November.”
