George Anthony, the father of Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of the murder of her 2-year-old daughter, took a lie detector test about his granddaughter Caylee Anthony’s disappearance.

Casey Anthony’s parents appeared on the special “Casey Anthony’s Parents: The Lie Detector Test” which premiered on A&E and Lifetime on Thursday.

In a clip from the show, obtained by the “Today” show, George Anthony, 72, was asked by the polygraph examiner if he “knowingly” concealed “Caylee’s whereabouts” during the six-month search for his missing granddaughter.

“No,” he hesitantly replied.

However, the polygraph examiner noticed that George Anthony was “struggling with that one a little bit” and asked him to, “Tell me why.”

“Maybe it’s because … it was so close to our house, that she was found,” George Anthony answered.

Furthermore, he emphasized he didn’t know where Caylee Anthony was at the time.

Despite his struggle to answer the questions, he passed the lie detector test.

On July 16, 2008, Casey Anthony was arrested for the disappearance of Caylee Anthony, who had been missing for a month,” according to Biography.

Six months later on Dec. 11, 2008, the skeletal remains of a young girl were found near Anthony’s home in a wooded area and were later confirmed to be the remains of Caylee Anthony.

On July 5, 2011, Casey Anthony was found not guilty of first-degree murder after 11 hours of deliberation by the jury.

However, she admitted to lying to police about her daughter’s whereabouts, leaving Caylee Anthony with a babysitter, about being employed at Universal Studios, and telling two people, all of whom did not exist, via The New York Post.

She was later convicted of lying to police and served three years in prison as she awaited her trial.

In an interview with The Post in 2017, Casey Anthony, who was deemed “the most hated mom in America” by television journalist Nancy Grace, claimed she was “still not even certain as I stand here today about what happened.”
