The woman who admitted she wanted to shoot House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) during the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor.

“I would like to accept my responsibility for what I did, for my part in January 6,” Dawn Bancroft, 59, said in federal court, according to The Washington Post. The outlet noted she admitted to illegally demonstrating.

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan questioned the Justice Department on why Bancroft is only facing misdemeanor charges, according to WUSA 9.

“It’s very troubling to hear someone say the reason they entered the Capitol on January 6 was essentially to murder the Speaker of the House,” Sullivan said to Bancroft, adding, “Very troubling.”

The outlet reported Bancroft pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building for entering the U.S. Capitol along with her friend Diana Santos-Smith.

Bancroft sent a video to her children explaining to them how they broke into the building and joined other rioters.

“We got inside. We did our part,” she said, adding, “We were looking for Nancy to shoot her in the friggin’ brain but we didn’t find her.”

Bancroft was reportedly wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat and Santos-Smith was wearing a “Make America Great Again” baseball hat.

Additionally, Bancroft told the judge, “It was a dumb, stupid comment,” adding, “I did not mean it.”

Pelosi previously reflected on the trauma lawmakers struggled with following the riot. She told the Post, “The trauma that I saw in their eyes… It was just overwhelming, just overwhelming. You know, our staffs are largely young. They come here with the sense of idealism and just love that they’re working in the Capitol.”

Following the Capitol riot, Pelosi’s office served in offering the congressional community post-traumatic counseling, as the outlet reports.

Since the riot, 654 individuals have been arrested and charged with crimes.
