Canadian police reportedly arrested a teenager passing out bibles when a small scuffle ensued between him and pro-transgender protesters.

On May 17, in Calgary, Alberta, Josh Alexander, 16, was with his Save Canada group when opposing protesters “holding transgender flags and Pride-themed signs,” surrounded them on a public sidewalk, Rebel News reported.

After a fight broke out between the two groups, Calgary police invaded the crowd, detained Alexander, and led him away from the area.

“Police allegedly detained the young man for causing a disturbance, claiming that because he approached the larger group that he was provoking violence,” according to the outlet.

However, officers assured Rebel News that Alexander would be released when the protest ended.

Today I was handcuffed and put in a paddy wagon for offering students bibles on a public sidewalk in Calgary.
I was released and told if I returned I would be arrested and charged.
I continued handing out bibles.

According to Calgary police, my views were too "inflammatory" to be expressed near the Western Canada HS.
Thankfully some of my assailants were charged after the event.
I will not yield to the pressure of the woke mob or corrupt state.

Following his release, Alexander, a conservative, spoke out about the incident on his Twitter page still boldly proclaiming his faith.

“Today I was handcuffed and put in a paddy wagon for offering students bibles on a public sidewalk in Calgary. I was released and told if I returned I would be arrested and charged. I continued handing out bibles,” he wrote in the caption of a viral video showing the arrest.

He added, “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ.”

In a separate tweet, Alexander claimed Calgary police said his “views were too ‘inflammatory’ to be expressed near the Western Canada HS.”

“Thankfully some of my assailants were charged after the event. I will not yield to the pressure of the woke mob or corrupt state. We will continue to spread the truth in love,” he wrote in the caption of a video where he is seen being pushed and shoved by members of the pro-transgender group.

Maxime Bernier, leader of the People’s Party of Canada, slammed Canadian police on Twitter for their actions.

“If you burn a church in this country, the police won’t devote any resources to catching you. If you hand out bibles on the sidewalk however — or hold a rally to defend fundamental rights in a time of hysteria — you will be arrested and fined immediately. We’re a sick society,” he wrote.
