Caitlyn Jenner, LGBT activist and reality television star, is swatting down rumors she is running for California governor.

In recent days, conversations have sparked among GOP circles suggesting Jenner would be a strong candidate being a longtime Republican in a potential recall election against Gov. Gavin Newsom (D).

Jenner’s manager, Sophia Hutchins, rejected the rumors on Thursday in a statement.

“Caitlyn is not running for governor, has never considered running for governor and is very happy doing the work that she is doing to promote LGBT rights and spending time with her 18 grandchildren and 10 children,” Hutchins said.

This is not the first time there has been a discussion about Jenner getting involved in politics.

In 2017 Jenner told radio host John Catsimatidis she was considering running for a Senate seat.

“The political side of it has always been very intriguing to me. Over the next six months or so, I’ve got to find out where I can do a better job. Can I do a better job from the outside, kind of working the perimeter of the political side, being open to talk to anybody?” Jenner said.

She continued, “Or are you better off from the inside? We are in the process of determining that. Yeah, but I would look for a senatorial run.”

Jenner came out as transgender in 2015. In 2018, she expressed her disappointment with the way former President Donald Trump handled LGBT issues.

“Trump was the first Republican presidential candidate to claim to support this valuable, vulnerable community, and I was encouraged by the applause he received when he said at the Republican National Convention in July 2016 that he would stand up for the LGBTQ community,” Jenner wrote in an op-ed published by The Washington Post.

She later added, “Sadly, I was wrong. The reality is that the trans community is being relentlessly attacked by this president. The leader of our nation has shown no regard for an already marginalized and struggling community. He has ignored our humanity.”

Jenner made it clear she does not support Trump and “must learn from my mistakes and move forward.”
