Caitlyn Jenner is coming out in opposition of allowing transgender girls to participate in girls’ school sports.

“This is a question of fairness. That’s why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls’ sports in school. It just isn’t fair. And we have to protect girls’ sports in our schools,” Jenner said during an interview with TMZ.

Jenner also tweeted, “I didn’t expect to get asked this on my Saturday morning coffee run, but I’m clear about where I stand. It’s an issue of fairness and we need to protect girls’ sports in our schools.”

Florida is the latest state to move to ban transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports in high school and college.

In recent months, other states have passed similar bills, including Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle confronted Gov. Jim Justice (R-WV) about the bill his state passed and asked him to provide an example of a transgender child “trying to gain an unfair competitive advantage at a school there in West Virginia.”

“I can’t really tell you one, but I can tell you this, Stephanie, I’m a coach and I coach a girl’s basketball team and I can tell you, we all know — we all know what absolute advantage boys would have playing against girls. We don’t need that,” Justice said.

Justice explained he signed it “because I believe from the standpoint of a coach, I believe that girls worked so hard to obtain Title Nine, and I do not have any idea now why we are trying to disadvantage them in participating in a sport that they put so much into.”

Last month, Jenner announced she is launching a bid for governor of California, as IJR reported.

“I’m in! California is worth fighting for,” Jenner tweeted.

She added in a statement, “I am a proven winner and the only outsider who can put an end to Gavin Newsom’s disastrous time as governor.”
