According to People Magazine, she became pregnant while dating singer Justin Timberlake and wrote, “It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy.”

She went on, “I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated.”

“But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young,” she added.

Spears then admitted, “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”

She further described the pain of having an abortion. She said, “To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.”

Despite claims that “abortion is healthcare” from abortion activists, the Journal of Pregnancy reported that women who voluntarily experience termination of pregnancy suffer from higher levels of post traumatic stress.

CBS News reported a the British Journal of Psychiatry published a study which found that women who had an abortion experienced anxiety at 34% higher rates, and that they experienced a 37% higher rate of depression.

The study also noted women who had an abortion were 110% more likely to abuse alcohol and 155% more likely to commit suicide.

In addition, Social Science and Medicine released a study which discovered that the majority of women surveyed were happy to have been denied an abortion after becoming mothers and over a period of years, proving the mental health benefits of giving birth and having a family.
