Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

A British member of parliament, Chris Bryant, told the Standard, “When others have resorted to violent solutions, he has argued that the best force is the force of argument.

He added, “Because guns can stop a heart but well-placed words can change many hearts, and many hearts can change a world.”

Bryant made the announcement this week ahead of the first presidential debate between Biden and Trump.

Biden’s nomination comes shortly after Trump was nominated multiple times for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, nominated Trump, citing the peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates which the U.S. helped broker., as IJR previously reported.

Additionally, a member of the Swedish Parliament made a nomination for Trump, as IJR also reported.

“I have nominated the US Gov. and the governments of Kosovo and Serbia for the Nobel Peace Prize for their joint work for peace and economic development, through the cooperation agreement signed in the White House,” Magnus Jacobsson said in a tweet. “Trade and communications are important building blocks for peace.”

Biden and Trump will go head-to-head at the first presidential debate on Tuesday night in Ohio.
