Former President Donald Trump is mounting another bid for the White House.

Standing behind a lectern with a sign featuring his “Make America Great Again” slogan and “2024,” Trump spent several minutes listing off some of his accomplishments. Then he shifted to rip into his predecessor’s job performance as he declare America is “a failing nation.“

“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for President of the United States,” Trump said.

Trump teased the announcement last week during a rally in Ohio as he said, “Not to detract from tomorrow’s very important, even critical, election, and I would say in the strongest way it’s a country-saving election … I’m going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.”

The announcement was expected to be news of another White House bid.

But after a disappointing election where Republicans failed to flip control of the Senate and are projected to win a narrower-than-expected majority in the House, some conservatives blamed Trump for the outcome.

Other conservatives blamed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Republican leadership.

And in light of the upcoming run-off for Georgia’s Senate seat, some have urged him to delay the announcement.

Former Trump White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany urged her old boss and any potential 2024 candidate to hold off on an announcement.

“Every ounce of Republican energy, every last ounce, needs to go into that Georgia race because it could potentially be what makes or breaks the Senate,” McEnany said on Fox News on Nov. 9.

She continued, “I know there’s a temptation to talk about 2024. No, no, no. 2022 is not over. Every Republican energy needs to go to grinding the Biden agenda to a halt.”

When asked if her comment applied to the 45th president, McEnany responded, “I think he needs to put it on pause, absolutely…He will make his own decision.”

“If I’m advising any contender — DeSantis, Trump, whomever — no one announces 2024 until we get through Dec. 6,” she added.

However, Jason Miller, an adviser to the former president, shared on Steve Bannon’s podcast on Friday that Trump is “fired up” about his run.
