Singer-songwriter Bobby Brown is opening up about dealing with the loss of his two children, Bobbi Kristina Brown and Bobby Brown Jr.

“Anytime I could spend with my kids I would. Anytime I could get them all together would be the greatest time of my life,” he told People.

When Bobby Brown’s ex-wife, singer Whitney Houston, died in 2012, he was concerned about the well-being of their daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

“I knew she would be just gone. Her mother was her best friend and I knew that she needed me more than ever,” he said.

Bobby Brown and his wife, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, told People that it took about three years to be able to see his daughter, but after finally getting in touch through phone calls, they planned their own meeting and were reunited.

“Just anytime I could even be on the phone with her, Facetime with her, was something special because her growing up and me being in the household, we were always tight. Just knowing that I could get a chance to see her physically that was more than enough for a lifetime, just to spend a couple of hours with her,” he said.

Bobby Brown said that he and Bobbi Kristina stayed in touch “as much as possible” and that she was scheduled to come and stay with him and his wife “for a little while” right before “the accident.”

In 2015, Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in the bathtub and was rushed to the hospital where she was put into a medically induced coma and died six months later, according to People.

“She’s here, she’s here with me. She’ll be with me forever. She’s not going anywhere,” Bobby Brown said of his daughter.

In 2020, Bobby Brown would face another tragedy, with the death of his son, Bobby Jr. Both his son and daughter died from drug abuse.

“With Bobby Jr. that came to me in such a horrible, horrible way because the night before I had been just thinking and calling him and calling him and calling him and calling him and couldn’t get in touch with him,” he said.

Bobby Brown went on to say that he knew his son had smoked weed but he did not know his son was experimenting and indulging in other drugs.

“To find out that that’s what eventually took his life was just a shock to me,” he said.

Matthew 5:4 says, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted,” and Bobby Brown said that after the death of his children he started having dreams about them.

“They’re always together when I dream about them. One doesn’t come without the other and I just keep seeing them happy. That’s enough for a father to feel like God has them,” he said.
