New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is reportedly parting ways with the team after 24 seasons, according to several sources.

Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, and Belichick have met multiple times so far in 2024 to discuss the best way for Belichick to step back from his position without any conflict or disagreement, sources familiar with the conversations told ESPN.

Belichick had one year left on his contract with the team and will be able to leave his position without the team seeking compensation.

Multiple NFL teams such as the Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, and Washington Commanders currently have head-coach vacancies, according to NBC Los Angeles.

Belichick is expected to be pursuing another position as a coach and would likely be eyed by one of the seven teams needing a head coach.

After starting as head coach of the team in 2000, Belichick and former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady led the team to six Super Bowl victories, nine AFC titles, and 17 division championships before Brady’s departure in 2020.
