If Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden wins the November general election, he would be the oldest American president in history to begin his first term in office.

Biden was asked by CNN’s Jake Tapper — who noted previous presidents have withheld information about their health — if he would be transparent about his health.

Tapper asked, “Will you pledge, that if you’re elected, you will be transparent about your health — all facets of your health — with urgency so that we know?”

“Yes, when it occurs,” Biden responded. “Anything can happen. That’s what I did. I laid out my health records, more detail … pages and pages when I became vice president. I laid it all out.”

He added, “Thank god I am in good health. But here’s the deal, anything can happen. I’ve become a great respecter of faith — a great respecter of faith. I’ve seen too much of it in my family related to accidents alone.”

Finally, he vowed, “I guarantee you, I will be totally transparent in terms of my health and all aspects of my health.”

Additionally, he challenged the Americans should compare his health to Trump’s and pay attention to “who seems to be in shape, who’s able to move around.”

Throughout President Donald Trump’s tenure, questions have swirled about his health, most recently after he made a previously unscheduled visit to Walter Reed Medical Center late last year.

Fresh speculation about Trump’s health erupted after a new book reported that Vice President Mike Pence was placed on “standby to take over the powers of the presidency temporarily if Trump had to undergo a procedure that would have required him to be anesthetized.”

That led some to suggest that Trump had suffered a series of “mini-strokes.”

However, Trump denied that in a tweet, “It never ends! Now they are trying to say that your favorite President, me, went to Walter Reed Medical Center, having suffered a series of mini-strokes. Never happened to THIS candidate – FAKE NEWS.”

Instead, Trump appeared to suggest that Biden had some kind of an ailment, “Perhaps they are referring to another candidate from another Party!”

Additionally, the president’s physician denied that report, “I can confirm that President Trump has not experienced nor been evaluated for a cerebrovascular accident (stroke), transient ischemic attack (mini stroke), or any acute cardiovascular emergencies, as have been incorrectly reported in the media.”

“The President remains healthy and I have no concerns about his ability to maintain the rigorous schedule ahead of him. As stated in my last report, I expect him to remain fit to execute the duties of the Presidency,” he added.
