President Joe Biden is promising that the United States will track down the leaders of ISIS-K behind the explosions in Kabul, Afghanistan that injured and killed dozens.

During remarks at the White House on Thursday, Biden called the service members who died in suicide bombings in Afghanistan heroes and vowed to hunt down those responsible for the attacks.

“To those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes America harm, know this: We will not forgive, we will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay,” Biden said.

The president said he directed the Pentagon to draw up plans to strike ISIS-K assets.

He told reporters that “we have some reason to believe we know who” is responsible for the attacks.

Biden’s comments come in the wake of two explosions in Kabul, Afghanistan, that killed at least 12 American service members and wounded at least 15. Dozens of civilians were also killed in the attacks.

ISIS-K, the Islamic State’s affiliate in Afghanistan, claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The explosions come as the U.S. is nearing its Aug. 31 deadline to complete its withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Earlier this week, Biden said that the U.S. is on pace to complete its withdrawal by the deadline, but added that “the sooner we finish the better,” and noted, “Each day of operations brings added risk to our troops.”

Despite the attacks, the president said that the evacuations will continue. He added, “America will not be intimidated.”
