President Joe Biden has said many words during his nearly two years in office. Some of them have been funny, some of them have been incoherent, and some of them have been just bizarre.

But on Thursday, he may have topped the list for disturbing statements.

During an event in California, Biden spoke about the investments made by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

At the outset of his remarks, the president acknowledged several California Democratic lawmakers in attendance.

And here’s where the terrifying comment came in. He gave a shout out to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and added, “Whatever Maxine says, I agree with.”

He then moved on to the next Democrat official without any further elaboration.

Let us review a sampling of what Waters has said:

In 2018, she declared, “Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from [former President Donald Trump’s] Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere. We’ve got to get the children connected to their parents.”

Is this a scary thought?

Before former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of George Floyd’s murder last year, Waters said, “We’re looking for a guilty verdict and we’re looking to see if all of the talk that took place and has been taking place after they saw what happened to George Floyd. If nothing does not happen, then we know that we got to not only stay in the street, but we have got to fight for justice.”

“We got to stay on the street. And we’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business,” she added.

Rep. Maxine Waters calls for rioters to "stay in the street" and "fight for justice" against police unless Chauvin is declared guilty for murder, not just manslaughter.

And in June, 2022, after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Waters said, “The hell with the Supreme Court. We will defy them. Women will be in control of their bodies. And if they think Black women are intimidated or afraid, they got another thought coming.”

Bonus:

In 2017, Waters supported objecting to certifying former President Donald Trump’s election win.

So by Biden’s telling, he supports “confrontational” protests, confronting people at restaurants and telling them they are not welcome there or anywhere, and defying a Supreme Court decision. And it could be argued, he might support objecting to presidential election victories when you don’t like the outcome.

More than likely he meant the comment in jest. Still, it is a pretty disturbing thought.
