Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and President Donald Trump are warning Americans against voting for the other in opposing op-eds published by Fox News.

Biden focused heavily on how he would tackle the COVID-19 pandemic and his economic vision for the nation moving forward while the president touted his track record and promised readers he would ensure opportunity for all.

“For eight months, we’ve lived through one of the most devastating tragedies in American history. But even as the numbers mount — with the worst-ever day of confirmed new cases coming just days ago — we cannot become numb to it. We cannot let these lives lost and futures diminished become statistics or background noise — just a blur that passes by on the nightly news,” Biden wrote in his op-ed.

He added, “Each is an American life that deserved better. And cruelest of all, we know that so much pain could have been avoided if only the president had faced reality and taken action sooner.”

Biden mentioned his upbringing in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and how he vows to protect the working American.

He explained how his administration would work to rebuild America’s infrastructure and decrease unemployment.

“If elected, I promise to fight as hard for those who don’t support me as for those who do. That’s the job of a president: not to divide us into red states and blue states, but to bring us together in a common purpose — as the United States of America,” Biden wrote.

Despite Biden’s claim Trump has failed to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic promptly, the president took a moment in his op-ed to argue how his response has protected Americans.

“My administration’s policies put America in a position to recover quickly from the unforeseen and unprecedented pandemic from China. Despite the challenges presented by the China virus, we did all we could to help see hardworking Americans through these difficult times,” Trump wrote.

He explained, “Thanks to my emergency economic relief legislation, more than 159 million Americans received direct financial assistance during the pandemic. Meanwhile, our Paycheck Protection Program helped protect 51 million American jobs, allocating over $525 billion in forgivable loans for over 5.2 million small businesses.”

According to Trump, the economy has added back 11.4 million jobs over the last five months and the unemployment rate stands at 7.9 percent.

Trump turned his attention to Biden and how, if elected, he would “destroy” the nation’s economic progress.

“A vote for me is a vote for jobs, safety, rule of law, lower taxes, protection of your Second Amendment, and freedom. Together, we have made America powerful again. We have made America wealthy again. And we will make America great again,” Trump concluded.
