Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is suggesting President Donald Trump needs to do more than just wear a mask in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Biden recognized Trump’s efforts to wear a mask in public, but urged him to provide more solutions to the problem.

“It’s gotten bad enough that even Donald Trump finally decided to wear a mask in public. I’m glad he made the shift,” Biden said during a speech in Deleware on Tuesday.

He added, “Mr. President it’s not enough. We won’t be able to turn the corner. We won’t be able to turn the corner and get American people back to work safely without presidential leadership.”

Biden called on Trump to “quit pushing” a choice between protecting the health of Americans and the economy.

He encouraged the president to listen to experts rather than “denigrating” them.

Biden explained without addressing the public health crisis, Americans will not be able to bounce back to what the nation once was.

“We won’t be able to do what Americans have always done, come back stronger than ever before, with the grit, toughness, and resilience that characterizes who we are,” Biden said.

Trump was seen wearing a mask for the first time during a trip to Walter Reed National Medical Center, as IJR previously reported.

The president faced months of criticism for not wearing a mask in public.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) suggested Trump should be an example to the American people by wearing a mask.

“Real men wear masks,” Pelosi said.

Appearing in an interview on Fox Business on July 1, Trump said he is “all for masks” and he thinks “masks are good,” as IJR previously reported.

It is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that Americans wear face coverings when they are unable to practice social distancing.
