Former Vice President Joe Biden (D) is sharing some details about the phone call he had with President Donald Trump regarding the government’s coronavirus response.
During an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Tuesday night, Biden was asked, “What was the point behind that conversation?”
“Kellyanne Conway, Ms. Conway, who I don’t know, I’ve never met, said about four, five day — I can’t remember the exact date — ‘If Biden really wanted to help he’d stop criticizing and call the president and offer his help,” Biden said.
He continued, “I got a call when I was going on a show … and said they wanted to talk to me. And so I called the president, I called the White House and sure enough, the president wanted to talk. We had a good conversation. I laid out what I thought he should be doing.”
Biden continued to say that Trump asked him not to disclose the details of what was discussed but said the president was “very gracious in his conversation.”

He said that he suggested that Trump “fully implement” the Defense Production Act, appoint a “supply commander” to “control it all,” and implement a Bank Defense Production Act to force big banks to lend to small to businesses
Trump confirmed that he spoke with Biden on Monday and said it was a “very friendly” conversation that lasted about 15 minutes.
The phone call came after Conway suggested that Biden offer his advice on the coronavirus outbreak by reaching out to the White House rather than criticizing Trump’s actions.
