President Joe Biden declined to answer a question about what he discussed with U.S. allies about the war in Ukraine.

During a trip to New Hampshire on Tuesday, Biden was focused on infrastructure.

And apparently, he did not want to deviate from the topic at hand.

A reporter asked him, “Mr. President, what did you discuss with the Allies today about Ukraine?”

“New Hampshire,” he responded.

The reporter asked, “Really?”

“I’m here to talk about New Hampshire,” Biden said.

The moment comes as the war in Ukraine continues to rage.

Biden has been called out for not answering reporters’ questions outside of the format of a formal press conference.

In September, Biden met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House and received criticism after he joked that the Indian press is “much better behaved” than American reporters.

“‘I think what we’re going to do is bring in the press,” he told Modi, adding, “The Indian press is much better behaved than the American press.”

He also suggested that Modi not answer questions because “they won’t ask any questions on point.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki later addressed the president’s comments.

“I know that isn’t something that anyone wants to hear in here,” she said.

Psaki added, “Some of the questions are not always about the topic he’s talking about that day. I don’t think it was meant to be a hard cut at the members of the media.”

That came after Biden met with U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson and appeared to decline to take questions, while his counterpart fielded questions from British reporters.
