President Joe Biden is responding to his predecessor’s divisive Christmas message.

In a tweet on Thursday, Biden shared an article about former President Donald Trump wishing his political enemies a Merry Christmas by telling them to “rot in hell.”

“There’s an expression they say in church sometimes: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you,” Biden wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Biden’s post comes from the famous Sermon on the Mount in the Gospels — though he did not specifically attribute it to that section.

Earlier this week, Trump took to Truth Social to post a Christmas message that received some negative reviews.

On Monday, Trump wrote, “Merry Christmas to all, including Crooked Joe Biden’s ONLY HOPE, Deranged Jack Smith, the out of control Lunatic who just hired outside attorneys, fresh from the SWAMP (unprecedented!), to help him with his poorly executed WITCH HUNT against ‘TRUMP’ and ‘MAGA.’”

He continued:

“Included also are World Leaders, both good and bad, but none of which are as evil and ‘sick’ as the THUGS we have inside our Country who, with their Open Borders, INFLATION, Afghanistan Surrender, Green New Scam, High Taxes, No Energy Independence, Woke Military, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Iran, All Electric Car Lunacy, and so much more, are looking to destroy our once great USA.”

Finally, Trump added, “MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

Trump also shared a video message that was a little more toned down in which he wished “everyone a happy, joyous, and wonderful Christmas season.”

“The birth of Jesus Christ is the true miracle we celebrate each year. He is the ultimate source of our joy, our hope, and our sense of peace,” he added.
