President-elect Joe Biden has a few words for Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) regarding the 2020 presidential election.

Biden was asked by late-show host Stephen Colbert if he takes it personally that many Republican lawmakers have not acknowledged him as the president-elect, even after the Electoral College vote on Monday.

“No, look, they’re in a tough spot,” Biden responded, adding that a “number of them” have said to him, “‘Give me time, Joe.'”

Colbert then pointed to Graham, asking if Biden believes they could “patch it up and work together.”

“Lindsey’s been a personal disappointment because I was a personal friend of his,” Biden said.

However, Biden added that he believes his incoming administration can work with Republican Congress members.

“Once this president is no longer in office, I think you’re going to see his impact on the body politic fade, and a lot of these Republicans are going to feel they have much more room to run and cooperate,” he said.

See Biden’s comments below (starting at 1:50):

Graham said during a Fox News interview shortly after Election Day, “We will work with Biden if he wins, but Trump has not lost. Do not concede, Mr. President. Fight hard.”

He has, however, urged President Donald Trump previously to give Biden intel briefings — which Biden now receives.

Graham previously suggested that if Biden wins, then Trump should attend his inauguration on Jan. 20, 2021.

“I just think it’s good for the country. It’d be good for [Trump],” he told reporters at the end of November.
