President Joe Biden was torched after making an argument about Republicans and “defunding the police department.”
While giving a speech in Philadelphia, Biden said, “MAGA Republicans are calling for defunding the police department.”
He added, “And the FBI now. That’s a good one. I like that one.”

During the same speech, Biden touted the budget he proposed to Congress for 2024 and how it invests in public safety.
“My budget invests in public safety. It includes funding for more training, more support for law enforcement at a time they are expected to play many roles. We expect our cops to be social workers, psychologists, and mental health counselors.” he said.
Biden added, “You know, more cops are killed, responding to domestic violence calls, than anything else.”
In August 2022, The Hill noted Republicans were using the “defund” slogan for the FBI, but not the police.
The calls for defunding the FBI came after the agency searched former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.
On Thursday, Biden laid out the budget that would also target the nation’s wealthiest Americans, as IJR reported.
“We propose a billionaire minimum tax, requiring the wealthiest Americans to pay at least 25 percent on all of their income, including appreciated assets—because no billionaire should ever pay a lower tax rate than a school teacher or a firefighter,” Biden wrote in his proposal.
He continued, “This Budget also proposes quadrupling the tax on corporate stock buybacks, so companies invest more in production to improve quality and lower prices, and less in buybacks that only benefit shareholders and CEOs.”
The president declared that the budget “reflects our values as a Nation—a Nation of good people, growing in a new age of possibilities, and standing as a beacon to the world.”
