Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley is being urged to stay in the Republican primary race, if only to torment former President Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, ABC’s “The View” discussed the state of the Republican presidential primary race as voters went to the polls in New Hampshire for the state’s primary.

Co-host Joy Behar said, “The more [Haley] stays in, the more demented [Trump] looks.”

“She needs to stay so that he can talk about her… just to annoy him,” Behar added.

RealClearPolitics’ average of polls currently shows Haley trailing Trump by roughly 19 points in New Hampshire vote.

Tuesday’s primary has been seen by some commentators as the moment Trump essentially locks down the Republican presidential nomination.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) suspended his campaign on Sunday and endorsed the former president, leaving Haley as the only remaining competitor for the nomination.

But while Behar urged Haley to stay in the race, her co-hosts agreed they believe President Joe Biden would stand a better chance against Trump than her.

Behar admits Dems want Trump to be the GOP nominee because they think it's an easier fight.

“He probably has a better chance against Donald Trump than he does against Nikki Haley,” co-host Sara Haines said.

The panelists also argued they cannot say if they think Haley would be better than Trump as they viewed him as more of a known quantity for how he would be as president.
