White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield is declaring the Biden administration will condemn and “aggressively [push back] on white supremacy.”

Bedingfield was asked during an interview on “The View” Friday about the increased domestic terrorist threats in the wake of the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6 and how President Joe Biden plans to handle it.

She told “The View” co-host that Biden “is committed, from his position in the White House as the leader of this country, to criticizing, condemning, aggressively pushing back on white supremacy.”

“He’s going to lead very differently, frankly, than Donald Trump did on this issue,” Bedingfield adding. “But secondly, as a government, we’re going to take this seriously.”

“We are taking these threats seriously. That represents a shift from the way this has been handled in the past. It’s something that will be a huge focus for [Biden].”

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security said this week that the U.S. is facing a growing threat from “violent domestic extremists” who are emboldened by the riot on Jan. 6, according to The New York Times.

The DHS said the motivation behind it includes anger over “the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives.”

“D.H.S. is concerned these same drivers to violence will remain through early 2021,” the DHS said, also noting the agency does not have information showing a “specific, credible plot.”
