Former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, have been enjoying their life after their tenure in the White House and the former president reminded the world that they’re still very much in love with his annual “happy birthday” post to his wife.

On January 17, Michelle Obama turned 57 and Barack Obama posted a series of black-and-white photos of the two of them with the caption, “In every scene, you are my star [Michelle Obama]! Happy birthday, baby!”

Barack and Michelle Obama have been married since 1992, after they met at a law firm in Chicago and Barack is only a year older than her. Both of them attended Harvard Law School.

The 44th president has made a habit of publicly wishing his wife a happy birthday each year on social media.

On her birthday in 2017, just after President Donald Trump was inaugurated and the Obamas had left the White House, Barack Obama posted a photo of the two of them on the back of a golf cart, riding away. He captioned the image, “To the girl from the South Side who took on a role she didn’t ask for and made it her own: Happy Birthday, Michelle. I love you.”

And a few years before that, when Michelle Obama turned 50, he posted a photo of the two of them at dinner. The former president wrote simply, “Happy 50th, Mrs. Obama.”

After they left the White House, there was plenty of speculation about whether Michelle Obama would run for president. However, the former first lady shot down the idea of an immediate future in politics.

She said that she misses the anonymity that she used to enjoy and added, “I don’t live a normal life. I used to. Normal is very baked into me because of how I was raised, but I also know the life I’ve lived for the last 10 years is no longer normal.”
