Two suspects have been arrested after authorities discovered the scattered remains of an air force veteran at his home, according to a report.

ABC News reported the suspects were arrested after they allegedly pawned the chain saw used to dismember an 80-year-old Air Force veteran’s body.

Phoenix police said Thomas Wallace was “being held Sunday on $1 million cash bond on suspicion of second-degree murder, concealing a dead body, theft of a pickup truck and trafficking in stolen property, while Romana Gonzalez is jailed on suspicion of fraud and theft,” as the outlet reported.

According to authorities, Wallace was the victim’s roommate while Gonzalez stayed at the home where the body was discovered off and on.

After entering the home earlier this month for a welfare check, officers allegedly discovered “two black trash bags inside a bedroom, along with severed body parts in a pile of blankets, according to court documents,” ABC News explained.

Additionally, homicide investigators found blood on the ceiling, walls and furniture.

The victim’s head was found in “layers of linen.”

The suspects have been accused of pawning some of the victim’s items in October for the price of $50, including a 10-inch saw with a chain that allegedly had pieces of flesh in it along with a camera bag including the victim’s business card.

Fox 10 Phoenix reported Gonzalez said during an interview with detectives she was currently not staying at the victim’s home due to Wallace’s behavior.

Gonzalez reportedly attempted to contact the victim so she could go back to get her belongings.

She claimed she and a friend discovered the victim’s body after breaking into the home.

“[The woman] inferred that [Wallace] killed the victim,” court documents stated, as Fox 10 Phoenix noted.
