Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison (D) is weighing in on one of his son’s — Jeremiah Ellison — latest tweets in which he declared his support of Antifa.

During an appearance on CNN’s “New Day” with host John Berman, Keith Ellison was asked about the tweet.

In response to his son’s remarks, he said, “I think that was a comment about the absurdity of the president’s comment more than anything else.”

Keith Ellison added, “We don’t see what the president is talking about. I don’t think the president sees what he’s talking about.

Keith Ellison’s remarks come just one day after his son’s tweet criticizing President Donald Trump’s tweet calling for ANTIFA to be labeled as a terroristic organization.

Due to the intensifying protests taking place nationwide, the president began identifying protesters as “ANTIFA-led anarchists.”

Trump also tweeted, “The United States of America will be designating ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization.”

In response to that remark, Jeremiah Ellison tweeted, “I hereby declare, officially, my support for ANTIFA Unless someone can prove to me ANTIFA is behind the burning of black and immigrant owned businesses in my ward, I’ll keep focusing on stopping the white power terrorist THE ARE ACTUALLY ATTACKING US!”

The latest news comes as protests resume for the seventh day in the United States. On Tuesday, protests in Minneapolis quickly escalating escalated to vandalism, riots, fires, and looting as the third precinct of the Minneapolis Police Department went up in flames.

By Sunday, intense protests had erupted in 140 cities across all 50 states in America with protesters clashing with police officers.

While there have been many peaceful protests around the country, governors in 26 states opted to activate the National Guard over the weekend. The decision was made due to rioting, fires, vandalism, and an uptick in looting similar to what initially unfolded in Minneapolis.

Despite Trump’s claims ANTIFA is responsible for the violence being incited at protests, multiple governors and mayors have said there are signs that suggest many of the riots and fires have been escalated by white supremacists.
