Actor and former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger opened up about his legacy and how feels about getting older.

In an exclusive interview with People, Schwarzenegger, 76, said he believes “everyone will have their own take” on what his legacy is.

“All I’m trying to do is just try to use my talents and help other people. It’s the simple stuff that I do that really helped me get where I am today,” he added.

He also spoke about whether he has reached contentment at his age.

“I’m always content, but, I mean, I’m always hungry for more. I slept with my first trophy,” he said.

He continued, “No one could take it away. But at the same time, the other foot is already out of bed going for the second Mr. Universe title.”

Additionally, Schwarzenegger revealed how he has changed over the years.

He shared:

“So today I feel good where I am. I feel I’m much wiser. I’m much smarter. I’m not as crazy. I think more about people. I think more about people’s feelings. In your 20s, you don’t do any of that. It’s me, me, me, me. As time goes on, you learn from your mistakes.”

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in May, Schwarzenegger spoke about inquiring about different methods to reverse aging but admitted he “never had cosmetic surgery.”

“I never tried any gimmicks. Years ago, I [went to] UCLA, where they have world-renowned experts on aging. I asked if anything has been created, or that is about to be available, that reverses aging,” he explained.

Schwarzenegger continued, “He says, ‘Absolutely nothing, end of story.’ The only thing you can do is the old-fashioned stuff. I could wipe out earlier because I smoke cigars, but then it gets counter-balanced by me eating well and then exercising.”
