Actor and former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger shared his beliefs on the afterlife.

During an in-depth conversation with actor Danny DeVito for Interview Magazine, Schwarzenegger, 75, recalled an interview he had with radio host Howard Stern when Stern asked what he believes “happens to us when we die.”

“I said, ‘Nothing. You’re 6 feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a f–king liar,'” he said.

Jeremiah 10:12 says, “But God made the earth by His power; He founded the world by His wisdom and stretched out the heavens by His understanding.”

During the exchange, Schwarzenegger gave DeVito his perspective on our eternal destination.

“We don’t know what happens with the soul and all this spiritual stuff that I’m not an expert in, but I know that the body as we see each other now, we will never see each other again like that,” he continued.

Schwarzenegger also referred to heaven as a “fantasy.”

“When people talk about, ‘I will see them again in heaven,’ it sounds so good, but the reality is that we won’t see each other again after we’re gone,” he said.

Additionally, “The Terminator” actor confronted his feelings on the reality of death.

“That’s the sad part. I know people feel comfortable with death, but I don’t,” he continued.

Having lost “15 friends in the last 20 or so years” within the body bodybuilding industry, Schwarzenegger said what heaven means to him personally.

“To me, heaven is where I put a person who I love dearly, who is kind, who is generous, who made a difference in my life and other people’s lives. I keep them in a spot in my head, like that front row that you have of all of your friends,” he said.

Schwarzenegger added, “And you always have a good feeling when you think of them.”

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter in May 2023, he spoke about his active lifestyle and revealed he doesn’t plan on dying.

“I love everything that I do. There’s no retiring. I’m still on this side of the grass, so I’m happy,” he said.

He concluded, “My plan is to live forever — and so far, so good!”
