Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is taking aim at President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

Ocasio-Cortez spoke with Vanity Fair — where she will be on the cover of its December edition — during the time that Trump was being treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for the coronavirus and McConnell was pushing through Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearings to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court.

After suggesting “Trump is the racist visionary,” the New York lawmaker said that “McConnell gets the job done.”

“He doesn’t do anything without Trump’s blessing,” she said of McConnell. “Trump says, ‘Jump.’ McConnell says, ‘How high?’ Trump never does what McConnell says.”

According to FiveThirtyEight, McConnell has voted in line with Trump’s position 94.3% of the time. The Republican-led Senate voted to confirm Barrett, Trump’s supreme court nominee, this week — despite opposition from Democratic colleagues.

Additionally, Ocasio-Cortez touched on the 2020 presidential election during the interview, saying, “This is not about a decision between two candidates. It’s about a decision between two countries.”
