Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) issued an apology after a follower pointed out she did not have her pronouns in her bio on Instagram.

One of her followers wrote, “Please add pronouns to your IG profile, thank you for all you do for ALL.”

She replied, “Oh I’m sorry about that. They used to be on there. Let me go in and check and see if I can add them.”

Ocasio-Cortez added, “Sorry about that. They used to be there. I guess they fell off, but I’ll put them on right now.”

She then showed a screenshot of her profile showing her pronouns included as “she/her.”

Her post comes just a little more than a week after President Joe Biden sat down for a conversation with transgender TikTok content creator Dylan Mulvaney ahead of the midterm elections.

During the conversation, Mulvaney asked, “Do you think states should have a right to ban gender-affirming health care?”

Biden replied, “I don’t think any state or anybody should have a right to do that. As a moral question, as a legal question, I just think it’s wrong.”

The moment received significant criticism from Twitter users.

Conservative commentator Lauren Chen argued, “Within just a few months, it seems that we’ve gone from “Kids aren’t having sex reassignment surgery!” to the President himself say it’s wrong to ban them…”

Another user suggested Biden’s response was “not exactly the winning midterm message.”

The Libs of TikTok account also tweeted, “Just so we’re clear- the official Democratic party position now is that puberty blockers and sex reassignment surgery for kids is good.”

Recent polling appears to show economic issues stand as a top concern for voters as they head to vote, as CNN reported.
