Anheuser-Busch, the parent company for Bud Light, reacted to accusations transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney made against them.

In a statement to The Daily Beast by the company’s spokesperson, they stated Anheuser-Busch is “committed to the programs and partnerships we have forged over decades with organizations across a number of communities, including those in the LGBTQ+ community.”

The spokesperson added, “The privacy and safety of our employees and our partners is always our top priority.”

“As we move forward, we will focus on what we do best – brewing great beer for everyone and earning our place in moments that matter to our consumers,” the statement concluded.

However, the statement did not mention Mulvaney by name.

This came after Mulvaney, a biological male, called out the beer brand on TikTok Thursday for not reaching out to him following the backlash he received for their partnership.

“For a company to hire a trans person and then not publicly stand by them is worse, in my opinion, than not hiring a trans person at all because it gives customers permission to be as transphobic and hateful as they want,” he said.

Mulvaney further explained the “hate” he received not only negatively impacts him but also the rest of the LGBT community.

On June 15, Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch, addressed the controversy in a press release.

“We recognize that over the last two months, the discussion surrounding our company and Bud Light has moved away from beer, and this has impacted our consumers, our business partners, and our employees,” he wrote.

Whitworth emphasized, “Beer is for everyone.”

“To all our valued consumers, we hear you. Our summer advertising launches next week, and you can look forward to Bud Light reinforcing what you’ve always loved about our brand – that it’s easy to drink and easy to enjoy,” he concluded.
