The “Today” show news anchor Al Roker revealed that he was in the hospital for a blood clot.

The 68-year-old shared the news on Friday on Instagram, after being away from the show for two weeks, according to People.

“So many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I’ve been. Last week I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots into my lungs,” he wrote.

He continued, “After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery.”

Roker concluded his post thanking everyone,  “for all the well wishes and prayers” and hopes to see them soon.

“Have a great weekend, everyone,” he added.

Roker’s wife and ABC News correspondent, Deborah Roberts, commented under his post showing her support.

“So grateful for the top notch medical care and prayer warriors from every corner. We love you dearly sweet Al and can’t wait to get you home,” she wrote.

His co- host Samantha Guthrie also commented under Roker’s post referring to him as, “the strongest person.”

“You’re the strongest person we know. We miss you and will see you soon!!” she wrote.

Roker has dealt with health issues in the past.

In 2021, he shared on the “Today” show after almost delaying his annual exam, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

“Listen, I was going to put off my annual checkup, [but I] decided back in September, let me just get this done. And if I hadn’t, [doctors] would not have detected the prostate cancer, which was very aggressive,” he said.

Roker urged the importance of getting a checkup and added that if he had not gotten checked, his outlook and outcome “might have been completely different.”

“So I cannot stress enough to people, go out there and get your checkup, make sure you get checked,” he shared.
