An anonymous caller on the “The Breakfast Club” who claimed to be a federal worker mocked others in her sector on Tuesday for “complaining about actually working.”

All federal employees were asked to report the work they did over the past week in an email following a Saturday announcement by Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk on X that said “Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.” The caller said on “The Breakfast Club” that the email was “a great opportunity” for federal workers to highlight their value to the government and criticized those who have complained about work requirements under President Donald Trump’s administration.

“God forbid they ask you what you’ve done. Any other job, they’ll ask you at the end of the week, at the end of the month … and it’s this Democratic thing. It’s like, I don’t want to get the parties into it, but they don’t want to go to work,” the caller said. “They want to work from home. People are not working from home.”

“You know, this is what you signed up for. If you don’t like it, resign. You know what I’m saying?” she continued. “They gave you the opportunity to. Find another job. I mean, it’s not that hard. You’re complaining about actually working. I don’t get it.”

Co-host Charlamagne Tha God responded by saying he was not angry about her viewpoint, which was one he said had not yet heard.

“That’s why I like talking to people … I like talking to people who are in it, because everybody sees things a different way,” Charlamagne said.

Co-host DJ Envy asked the caller if she “feel[s] like there are a lot of people that are not working, that are taking days off.”

“Absolutely,” she answered, asserting that there is “a gadget” available for purchase that makes it seem like remote workers are working when they are not.

“People are actually buying it and using it and not working. And this is our taxpayers’ money, and you have to work,” she added. “You don’t like it, get another job … the people that’s complaining about writing an email, it’s going to take, what, five minutes out of your day? Ten minutes?”

“And I read on Twitter a guy was complaining, ‘Oh, it’s going to be an hour.’ It takes you an hour to write five things that you completed? Okay, um, maybe you do need another job,” the caller said, laughing.

The email to federal employees directed them to list five accomplished tasks — excluding classified information — by midnight on Monday.

Trump signed an executive order on his first day in office mandating all federal workers return to in-person work. The order states that all remote federal work arrangements must end — except in exceptional situations.
