Fox News host Harris Faulkner noted Monday that President Joe Biden was “obviously” struggling to answer questions during a press conference at the White House where he was pelted with inquiries about the Middle East.

Biden initially gave a statement about the effects of Hurricane Helene in the southeastern United States before he was asked about the potential for full-scale war between Israel and the radical Islamic terrorist group Hezbollah following strikes that killed the organization’s top leaders. Biden has reportedly urged top administration officials to quickly secure a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas in the hopes of staving off a wider regional war, as his term is set to expire in the coming months.

Biden told a reporter who asked about the Middle East he wanted to stick with the response to the hurricane.

“So that was the president of the United States and it was obvious that he was physically struggling trying to answer questions,” Faulkner said, before cutting to an exchange between Biden and the reporter.

WATCH:

“I need to ask my team, what was he just asked? I want to know what that response [was] to. Okay, let’s roll back that tape and see what he was asked, please. That’s important to know. He was clearly struggling. We have not been given any indications to his health or anything at this point, but he wrapped that quickly,” Faulkner said. “When the questions moved to the pending wider war in the Middle East, which you know that we have to pay attention to right now. Our homeland looks like a war zone after Hurricane Helene and there is an actual growing dual war zone across the world, one of them in the Middle East. I want to know what he turned around and said, because the question might have been – my team’s gonna tell me – what are we doing about all of it?”

Biden’s president’s campaign was dogged by issues before he said he would not accept the Democratic Party’s nomination for president in a July 21 post on X, following multiple verbal missteps during a June 27 debate with former President Donald Trump hosted by CNN.

On multiple occasions, Biden said he spoke with people who had died, including claiming Feb. 8 to have spoken with former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl about the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol, even though Kohl died in 2017, three days after he claimed to have spoken with former French President Francois Mitterrand, who passed away in 1996 and asked for Republican Rep. Jackie Walorski of Indiana, who was killed along with two staffers in an August 2022 motor vehicle accident, during a September 2022 conference on hunger.

The Democratic Party has been divided over support for Israel’s military operations in Gaza in the wake of the Oct. 7, 2023 attack by Hamas that killed over 1,200 people. Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan called on Democratic primary voters to support “uncommitted” slates of delegates in February due to Biden’s failure to secure a permanent cease-fire in Gaza following the attack.
