White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre insists it is confusing to her why Americans doubt President Joe Biden’s fitness for the job.

On Monday, Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked, “Why do you think it is that more and more people polled feel like over time President Biden is getting less and less mentally sharp?”

“Which poll is this?” Jean-Pierre asked.

Doocy noted an ABC News poll found the percentage of voters who think Biden is healthy enough for the job has decreased five points since May.

Additionally, he pointed the percentage of Americans who think he has the mental sharpness for the job has decreased four points.

“That’s a little confusing for me because if you look at what this president has done the last three years, historical pieces of legislation, right?” Jean-Pierre responded.

Specifically, she highlighted the bipartisan infrastructure package Biden signed into law in 2021.

By contrast, she noted an infrastructure bill became a “punchline” during former President Donald Trump’s time in office.

After listing off other accomplishments, Jean-Pierre insisted, “These are legislation [sic] that is going to have a difference for generations to come.”

“That’s pretty sharp for this president to have been able to do that,” she added.
