Ryan Reynolds couldn’t stop his pretend alter ego, Deadpool, from cutting in on Rob McElhenney’s “Welcome to Wrexham” Creative Arts Emmy Awards win over the weekend.

Reynolds posted the video to X, formerly Twitter, Sunday, stating, “Whoo!! Wow, umm, Mr. Lively couldn’t be here to accept this broken Emmy so he sent me on his behalf.”

“First and foremost, Wrexham, we love you. Thank you for letting Rob and the other guy tell your story. Cymru am bith, b—-es,” he added.

“I’d also like to thank the Academy for this honor and for not asking us to attend the televised awards show with the real celebrities,” he went on.

He then noted, “I’d also like to thank FX and Disney for their support, and in exchange Mr. Lively promises to not f–k up my next movie.”

He also put the Oscars on notice in classic Deadpool fashion.

This came after Deadpool, or Reynolds (whichever he is at the moment), spent the weekend watching the Wrexham A.F.C. soccer championship with Hugh Jackman and posted about it to Instagram.

“Discussing Film” posted on X that Ryenold’s Deadpool acceptance was aided by his notorious friend, Jackman, also known as Wolverine.

Ryan Reynolds says he borrowed Hugh Jackman’s Emmy to make his acceptance speech.

“He gives it to me, then asks, ‘Is it supposed to look like that?’ It isn’t, it’s broken. I love this man.” pic.twitter.com/Etws7u0lGS

Reynolds is noted to have asked to borrow Jackman’s Emmy for the video, but that he noticed something was off and asked, “Is it supposed to look like that?”

Jackman supposedly answered, “It isn’t. it’s broken,” leading Reynolds to declare, “I love this man.”

“Welcome to Wrexham” is a docuseries that follows the process of Reynolds and McElhenney taking ownership of the Wrexham AFC soccer team, per The Wrap.

It won five Creative Arts Emmy Awards, including: “Outstanding Picture Editing For An Unstructured Reality Program,” “Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program,” “Outstanding Directing For A Reality Program,” “Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Reality Program (Single or Multi-Camera),” and “Outstanding Cinematography For A Reality Program.”
