Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) does not have a positive assessment of House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-La.) tenure so far.

In an interview with The Hill, Greene said she believes Johnson has been “terrible” since he replaced former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.)

“He went from having a voting record to literally a month later … going against his own voting record and being Speaker of the House,” the Georgia congresswoman said.

She added, “Literally all of a sudden talking about doing things that he had literally voted against only a month before that. And, you know, that was unacceptable to me, and it still is.”

Specifically, she cited Johnson’s decision to pass a “clean” government funding bill.

“Mike Johnson comes in and first thing he starts talking about is passing another CR (continuing resolution), and I’m like, wait a minute, what? You just voted against it. That was the whole reason why Kevin McCarthy got ousted, was working with Democrats and passing a clean CR. And you know, for me I was like, what a hypocrisy,” Greene said.

Greene became a vocal supporter of McCarthy’s bid to be speaker last year as a bloc of Republicans led by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) — seen by some as more conservative — opposed him.

She also opposed to effort to oust McCarthy as speaker in October and later said the Republicans behind the move “need to apologize” for throwing the House into chaos.

While she supported the former House speaker, she stressed that does not mean she is a “team player.”

“I wasn’t a team player. I wasn’t even involved. I was a regular American, a very successful business owner, a mom who raised my kids, and a Republican voter who felt let down by Republicans in Washington, D.C. So that’s who I am, and I’m still that person,” Greene told The Hill.

She added, “I’m not the Republican team player; I never have been.”

The outlet also notes the congresswoman has been critical of Johnson’s proposal to combine Ukraine funding with border security measures.
