Georgia Man Accused of Allegedly Threatening to Kill Marjorie Taylor Greene

WASHINGTON, DC - OCTOBER 12: U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) speaks to reporters as she leaves a House Republican caucus meeting at the U.S. Capitol on October 12, 2023 in Washington, DC. The House Republicans continue to debate their pick for Speaker after their initial nominee, Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), failed to secure the number of votes needed. The full House of Representatives is expected to vote on a replacement for former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) after he was ousted last week. (Photo by Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images)

A Georgia man was arrested after he allegedly called the office of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and threatened to kill her.

Sean Patrick Cirillo, 34, allegedly called Greene’s office on Wednesday and said he was “going to murder her” and “shoot her” in her head, according to a recording of the phone call shared with CNN.

Cirillo has been charged with using communications devices to make threats, a spokesperson from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia told the outlet.

“I’m going to murder her; I’m going to shoot her in the f***ing head and kill her, OK,” the caller said. “Tell the FBI.”

“I’m going to kill her next week,” the caller continued. “I’m going to murder her. You don’t think you’re going to get [a] paycheck? You’re going to die. Your family is going to die.”

In a video of the call shared with Channel 2 Action News, the caller can allegedly be heard claiming to have a sniper rifle and be a major donor, be he went on his rant.

Greene thanked “law enforcement” officials, including the “Rome City Police, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Capitol Police, the House Sergeant at Arms,” and the FBI for responding quickly and making the arrest, according to a statement provided to the outlet.

“I’m not the only victim with this threat of violence,” Greene said. “My family is threatened. My staff is threatened. I even had to close my district office due to the potential of violence. It’s wrong and never should happen.”

This incident marks the second time this week that a Georgia Republican has received threats of violence. Rep. Rich McCormick (R-Ga.) was forced to close his office in downtown Cumming after he received threats.
